FROM ANNICK:
In December 2019, this woman was the first to give me a chance at legit work since I moved to Canada in 2017. She was the first to believe in my skills. Little did I know that she would change my life course. She inspired me to move forward rather than backwards. She let me believe in myself again when I felt like the whole world was against me. Which is one of the biggest reasons why I could finally let go of my homesickness and start enjoying my life in Canada. She is my hero.
Ash is ALWAYS on the go. Up early every day, running around, working harder than any human should honestly. She has about ten thousand projects at the same time all the time - at least that’s what it looks like to me. And yet, she manages to do them all and ROCK it.
I would say her biggest weakness is not taking time for herself. Which is why every time she does it, I am very proud of her. Because she needs it and if anyone deserves it, it’s her.
Her strong suit is definitely her determination. She has managed to put down a successful store in under five years in a small town like Trail, and within a couple of years she was already on to the next project. When she has an idea in her head, it’s going to happen, and she will fight hard for it.
I could probably go on for hours about all her strong suits, talents and creativity. Because she has so many. So to wrap it up as compactly as I can, Ash is an amazing, generous, caring and inspiring human being, with lots of talents, energy, creativity and determination. And if it were up to me, I’d like to work for her forever and ever and ever and ever.
FROM TARYN:
Ash is one of a kind. She has a contagious and likeable personality with a sense of humour that will have you rolling with laughter. fiercely independent and always on the go, she treats her staff like family and always makes sure we are taken care of.
She makes a mean kabab and is very passionate about supporting her local community and area. She is always just such a shining light who brings out the best in people, family is her whole life and every moment not spent on one of her many projects is spent with Thomas and her 2 incredibly wonderful children. With one of the biggest personalities I know and a big heart to match, Ash has the most incredible work ethic and determination of anyone I’ve ever met.
I admire all she has created and how big her dreams are. Like Michelle Obama once said, “The only limit to the height of your achievements is the reach of your dreams and your willingness to work hard for them.” Her ambition and drive inspires a workplace that reflects that. I am so thankful to be a part of this team and even more thankful to know her.

FROM THOMAS:
What does one say about a person so phenomenal? Ash is our matriarch. Her heart knows no bounds and she’s the kind of person who never gives up on her goals or the people in her life. I consider myself the luckiest person. To know Ash would be enough but I’m lucky enough to call this beautiful person my wife, my best friend, the mother of my children and the creator of everything we have worked so hard to build.
She has overcome more than I can ever comprehend and continues to give every ounce of herself. Day in day out challenges arise and Ash’s strength is unwavering. Resilient beyond belief and funny as the day is long, Ash’s optimism is something I’ve grown to depend on. I wish I had 10 percent of the courage and strength Ash has, she was given nothing in life and created her own destiny. She is the reason we are all here, she is our hero. But she was my hero first.

THOMAS
FROM ASH:
Well, I am biased but in the best possible way. Thomas is intelligent, gifted, driven to a point that often seems humanly impossible.
If he is needed, he is there without hesitation giving all he has, to fix, improve, or just support; this is second nature to Thomas as he has a deep concern for other's well-being, doing everything in his power to amend whatever is hurting those he cares about.
Thomas is sturdy in his commitments to his work, his family, and his character, a person you can depend on for whatever he has promised you, I am not only fortunate enough to have this man as my business partner but as husband and father to our wonderful children.

FROM TARYN:
Co-owner of the store, Thomas is an absolute gem. He is always looking out for us and works diligently to make sure we have all the tools we need to succeed. He is always there when we need him to build something or do some heavy lifting, all while juggling his job, hobbies, family life and projects. He is absolutely hilarious and can make you laugh effortlessly without even trying.
He, like Ash, has an incredible work ethic and determination. Thomas wears many hats like owner, display builder, renovator, father, husband and the most important for me bug remover. Both him and Ash possess an undeniable love for the Kootenays and supporting local businesses. Master of the Barbeque and lover of comedy movies, Thomas is such a genuine and kind person. He is so dedicated and gives all he has to everything he does.
FROM ANNICK:
The big “brother”, Thomas. Not really my brother, but he acts like it. Always looking out for me, for Taryn, obviously for Ash and all his family - and for the store. Always speaks highly of me and expresses his gratitude every opportunity he gets. Checks in with me, takes care of me through the hard times, and the good times. He has been a blessing in my life.
Thomas is extremely creative. When you bring him an old, broken item, he will probably find a way to make it look good again. In a very creative way. He will make it into furniture, or a lamp. He also builds gorgeous displays. Almost all the displays in the store were handmade by him. When it comes to that, our store really is built out of the creative outbursts of Thomas!
Anything that breaks in the store, or anything that needs upgrading - Thomas is our guy. He will jump on it fast, and his major priority is making sure that “his girls” (as he calls Ash, me and Taryn) have a safe work environment.
This man truly deserves everything good in his life. I find myself lucky to be a part of it.
